Circle 6 Ranch Getaway“This here is Cowboy Country Where the coyotes still howl at the moon! There’s Horses, ‘n Hikin’, ‘n Happy Trails. We hope to see you soon!” Get away to “Where the Country Never Ends”. Come on out to our Cattle Ranch and stay in one of our cozy houses which are both very private and away from the main ranch house. These are self catered houses, but we offer tasty breakfasts upon request. One of our houses, we fondly call ‘The Coup’ is decorated in a country theme-daisies, chickens and apples. (Odd combination, but it works). This little house sleeps 4 as it has a queen bed in one room, and 2 single beds in another. Quaint, cute and comfy! Our other larger house, called the Silver Spring House, has a décor that is western from the wagon wheel furniture, all the way to the cowboy dishes with a bunch of spurs, boots, and a whole lot of other cowboy gear and artifacts, with a few neat surprises for you to enjoy. The Silver Spring House can sleep 7 a queen bed in one room, a double in another, 2 single beds in another room, and a single bed in the last room. This house is perfect for those wishing to experience the ‘cowboy way’ of life. Both houses are complete with a full sized fridge, stove, microwave, cozy beds, a wood burning fireplace, and all the necessary amenities. All you need to bring is your food and your toothbrush! If you bring your horses along on your holiday, there is a corral for them too, at each location. If you don’t have a horse, or else have to leave ‘ol Paint’ back home at your place, and still want to ride, you can ride one of ours. Our ranch is located smack dab in the middle of the beautiful Porcupine Hills, and you can ride till your heart’s content out here. Perhaps, if the time is right, you could help us gather some of our cattle and help move them to other pastures on the ranch. Package deals are available. It is ‘Hiker’s Heaven’ out here! Hiking around these hills is an experience you won’t soon forget. Photograph our treasures: our abundant wild animals, birds, our beautiful wild flowers, native grasses, and our many springs, creeks and ponds. Stroll along the creeks and eat a well deserved picnic lunch in the shade, while you dip your tired ol’ feet into the cool spring water. Hike to the top of our many hills, where you can see for miles and miles the prairies to the east, the grassy Porcupine hills all around you, and even the Rocky Mountains to the west. “Where the Country Never Ends”! With this you ca taste a sense of ‘Freedom’. Drop your fishing line into the spring-fed pond and try out your skills of catching “Mr. Big” a cagey ol’ trout, who lives in the deep water there. He’ll taste mighty fine all fried up for your breakfast the next mornin’. I bet you’d like to go on a wagon ride! We’ll hitch up ol’ Hershal and Harvey to the wagon, and take you for a ride back to yester-year as we tell you some stories of the old settlers and ranchers who once lived on our ranch and in our area. They sure were characters! Don’t let us forget to tell you about ol’ Noah Sitton- the first owner of this ranch! He and his Mrs. have a colorful past. There are lots of colorful yarns and legends about all these folks and we are proud to share their history of these hills with you. As the sun sinks deep behind the hills, gather around a blazing campfire. Roast some marshmallows over the fire, while sipping on a stout cup of cowboy coffee or hot cocoa. Sing along with our own Singing Cowboy as he plays his guitar, and entertains you with many of his cowboy songs. That’s always a fun time. You might like to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, and solitude that our ranch creates for you. Perhaps cozying up in front of your own fireplace with a good book on a cool day, the end of a perfect day, or outside in the shade on a hot summer day might just be your ticket for a perfect relaxing ‘good for the soul’ holiday. Music is plentiful out here. Bring your guitar, or other musical instrument along with you to enjoy some tunes with us. Our ranch is a great place for scrapbookers, ladies weekends, couples or families. Musicians, artists, or writers would surely find the solitude and the peacefulness, great for creating. Of course our spectacular foothills ranch country would help get those creative juices flowing!! Whatever you do, come relax and enjoy a peaceful holiday at the Circle 6 Ranch Getaway… “Where the Country Never Ends”! We are open May November.
